GalaxyArt Newsletter August 2021
Arts & culture have unlimited potential to deliver meaningful experiences.
Check-in GalaxyArt by taking photos together with our 3D exhibits Malaysian artist Tang Mun Kian portrayed the history and culture of Macau in steel rod sculptures with a humorous cartoonist style, covering sceneries related to Macau’s heritage, past architectures and traditional industries. Candy, measuring 5 meters by 3 meters, is the featured exhibit to welcome visitors at GalaxyArt’s open lobby. The exhibit depicts travelers crossing the Border Gate and perhaps you can join them in a photo, right here at GalaxyArt!
Children Audio Captions GalaxyArt focuses on cultivating the development of our next generation in arts and culture. In addition to the captions provided at the exhibition, we have prepared audio captions for children in two languages - Cantonese and Mandarin, so they can learn more about each exhibit through interesting stories. (Give it a try, with one of our exhibits: “Warning”)

【Arts used to be one of the events at the Olympics】
Son: Daddy, the 32nd Summer Olympics just came to a close in Tokyo. I want to grow up to be an excellent athlete and hope to become an Olympian!
Dad: My dear son, do you know that Arts used to be one of the events at the Olympics in the past? Many painters, sculptors, writers and musicians competed for medals at the event!
Son: So how do you compete in the Arts event at the Olympics?
Dad: The event included five categories: architecture, literature, music, painting and sculpture. All entries had to be created under a sports-related theme.
Son: But Arts is no longer an Olympics event?
Dad: It stopped being one after the second World War. Since then, a cultural event has replaced the Arts competition, such as the “Olympic Art and Sport Contest” that began in 2000 and, for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, a “Tokyo 2020 Nippon Festival”.
